In 2022 contributions from generous donors like you enabled Will Allen Foundation to accomplish the following for our students:
Our four seniors at Clairton High School will all attend a four-year institution. Two of the women received full scholarships – one to Pitt and one to Howard University. They received laptops as their senior gifts from WAF. Our two seniors at Perry High School have both embarked on the entrepreneurship path. The Foundation assisted with their LLC filings.
For the first year, we established a summer Rising Freshman Academy at Clairton High School and The Neighborhood Academy. Twenty-three students achieved a micro-certification in Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy robotics module prior to entering their freshman year.
A new collaboration with Multiplying Good has provided students with leadership training and the chance to attend conferences and engage with students from other neighborhoods and schools.
We provided 850 backpacks and school supply kits to the entire Clairton School District.
We held our 10th annual Holiday Giving event on December 13th, providing students from Boys and Girls Clubs of Western PA Duquesne Clubhouse and Clairton School District with $200 gift cards at Walmart. More than 60 volunteers participated in taking the students shopping for gifts for their family members. This milestone year brings our total to 600 families and nearly 2,000 family members impacted by this annual event.
WAF students participated in and volunteered in 8 community events Students toured New Century Careers and learned about opportunities for training and potential careers prior to graduating from high school.
We've had a 15% increase in donors like you and for that we are very grateful!
We look forward to starting the year strong with your continued support!
